Microsoft Copilot is available on Apple CarPlay. With Apple CarPlay support for Copilot, you can start and continue voice conversations safely while you drive.
With Copilot in CarPlay, you can:
- Get quick answers to questions
- Prepare for upcoming meetings
- Catch up on emails and messages
- Brainstorm ideas using voice

Some features available in the Copilot mobile app may not be supported in CarPlay. Copilot prioritizes a voice-first, low-distraction experience while driving.
Requirements to use Copilot with Apple CarPlay
To use Copilot with Apple CarPlay, make sure you have the following:
- A supported iPhone running iOS 26.4 or later
- The latest version of the Microsoft Copilot app
- A vehicle that supports Apple CarPlay
- Access to voice in Microsoft Copilot
Set up Copilot in Apple CarPlay
Connect your iPhone to your car to launch Apple CarPlay.
- If your car supports CarPlay with a USB cable, plug your iPhone into the USB port in your car.
- If your car supports CarPlay both wirelessly and with a USB cable, plug your iPhone into the USB port in your car. An alert on your iPhone offers to connect you wirelessly on your next drives.
- If your car supports only wireless CarPlay, press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel. Make sure that your stereo is in wireless or Bluetooth mode.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on.
Tap the Info button for your CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.
Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and select your car.
On your CarPlay screen, select Microsoft Copilot.
Start a voice chat with Copilot using Apple CarPlay
Select New voice chat or say "*Hey, Siri, ask Copilot."
Wait for the status to change to listening.
Speak your prompt to begin the conversation with Copilot.
Continue a voice chat with Copilot using Apple CarPlay
Connect your phone to Apple CarPlay.
On your CarPlay screen, select Microsoft Copilot. (If the last opened app on CarPlay was Microsoft Copilot, this step isn't required.)
The voice session seamlessly begins using CarPlay.
